HAPPY BANK HOLIDAY

Morning crafters

Last night I was pleased to arrive home safely from our Annual Goldwing UK Treffen, this year in Carmarthen, South Wales, approximately 300 miles each way.

The journey to Wales on Wednesday morning was bright, sunny, but most of all 'dry'.  The only rain was whilst we were tucked up in our warm & cosy tent, and yes, the heater did get used for the first time in ages !!

It was lovely as always catching up with many GW friends from across the UK, plus new friendships formed with our European friends in previous years, but missed others from Germany, Holland and Greece who didn't manage to get across this year.

Thanks to modern technology and social media, I had been in contact with a former Barclays colleague Susan Roberts (no relation) who left 18-years ago and now lives very close to where we were staying. We met up Friday for lunch and again on Sunday morning, bringing her family to the Public Open Day to view all the Goldwing motorbikes & trikes on display.  She was amazed at how comfortable it was and I think Tony could see himself riding one too !!

The weather forecast for Sunday night was torrential downpour, with rain and lots of spray forecast for Bank Holiday Monday ride home.  So, at lunchtime yesterday we decided to pack up (in record time) and get on our way, arriving home in the dry, with bright and sunny conditions similar to the journey down.

Today it will be nice to relax and catch up, once the trike and trailer are unloaded, before back at work tomorrow.  I was also asked last night for 45 thank you cards so a spot of crafting whist hubby watches TV later.

Happy craftin'
